In-Office in Lake Oswego and Virtually for all Oregon State Residents

Are you ready to live free from your eating disorder?

I work well with clients who may be feeling:

  • overwhelmed by disordered thoughts and urges

  • exhausted with their eating disorder

  • ready to put in the work and live a life free from restriction, bingeing, and purging

Eating Disorder Recovery

Maybe you’re skipping meals, restricting calories, or constantly worrying about food. You might have turned to purging or overexercising to compensate for eating. Perhaps you’ve started to binge eat, and you can’t find a way to stop. No matter what you’re coming in with, you can live a life free from your eating disorder. I help my clients to build a healthier relationship with food so that you can get back to your life.

Body Image Therapy

If you find yourself obsessing over your body’s size and shape or spending hours thinking of the ways you would like to change your body, body image therapy can help. I believe that you deserve to live a life of freedom, joy, and connection to your body. I help my clients like you to build a sense of trust and connection with your body so that you can be partners, not enemies.

Binge Eating

If you find yourself eating past the point of discomfort, hiding how much you are eating, or feeling disgusted or depressed after eating, you may benefit from therapy for binge eating. Binge Eating Disorder is one of the most common (and under-treated) eating disorders in the US today and is one of my specialties.

Bulimia

Maybe you’re eating large amounts of food very quickly and past the point of discomfort and then compensating by purging, taking laxatives, or overexercising. If so, therapy for Bulimia Nervosa can help. Bulimia is treatable, and one of my specialties.

Teens & Young Adults

It’s common for eating disorders to start when you’re in middle school, high school, or college. I’m passionate about supporting young people in developing a healthier relationship with food and their bodies early in life. If you’re a young adult, or the parent of a teen, I would love to support your recovery.

I would be honored to guide you in reworking your relationship with food so that you feel more confident in honoring hunger and fulness cues, coping with your emotions in healthy ways, and nourishing your body without guilt.

FAQs: How It Works

How does therapy for eating disorder recovery work?

In our first sessions, I’ll ask you lots of questions to better understand your story, experiences, and goals. Then, we’ll develop a plan for how to tackle your eating disorder head on. Therapy might include collaborating with a dietitian or doctor, processing traumatic experiences, building a healthy and realistic view of yourself, and making goals for your recovery.

What is your experience?

I graduated with a Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College in 2010. Since graduation, I have been treating eating disorders in people of various ages, genders, and levels of care. I have experience working in Partial-Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient levels of care and now focus on supporting eating disorder recovery at the outpatient level.
